Kay Carrico, owner of In-Compasse International, helps US companies minimize risk and avoid the pitfalls of international trade. Kay is a registered broker with the Export Import (Exim) Bank of the U.S. She also works with private insurers when Exim insurance products are not available. Insurance products help mitigate risk when selling to foreign buyers on open account.
Kay has worked for more than 25 years helping U.S. companies successfully expand their businesses to foreign markets. She was an international trade specialist with MEDC and was co-located with Federal and local agencies in the Pontiac Export Assistance Center. Being part of an export assistance center provided her with a vast knowledge of all the resources that U.S. companies need to begin or build their exports. Kay was a coach for ExporTech in New Mexico. As coach, Kay helped attending companies with export plans. She also provided the right information and the right organization saving attendees countless hours of research on the Internet.
Kay was a founding member of Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) Detroit Chapter and president of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) in New Mexico. She was also on the board of Sister Cities and the International Visitors Council in Albuquerque.
