The Office of Defense and Aerospace Innovation launched in April of 2024, to build on the work of the Michigan Defense Center. ODAI has a clear mission - to bolster Michigan's defense and aerospace sectors. Their approach involves fostering business to excel within these markets, highlighting the states unique advantages, and setting conditions to propel innovation toward unparalleled growth.

The APEX Accelerator provides assistance to businesses in marketing products and services to federal, state, and local government agencies. Schoolcraft College in Livonia has sponsored the local program since 1985 and is the link between the government, prime contractors, and businesses.
